Newaire Plugin Technology Cleans the Air

Pleasant odors can lift our spirits and improve mood. The smell of coffee brewing or bacon frying can coax us out of bed in the morning. The scent of flowers or perfume may put is in a romantic frame of mind. Unpleasant odors can also have the opposite effect. They can cause us to feel repelled and even cringe.

We love our pets and may think they are wonderful, yet the smell we are used to may be unpleasant to others, and pet dander can be even worse. It may be because they are unpleasant, but bad odors seem to linger longer than the ones we like. Fortunately, those offensive indoor orders can easily be eliminated with the use of ozone generating air purifiers.

Newaire Plugin Series I

Ozone Generators

Ozone generators remove all unwanted odors from the air by destroying the molecules responsible, whether they are from mold, bacteria, smoke or other contaminants. Ozone (O3) is a reactive form of an oxygen molecule. It changes the chemical structure of pollutants so they are no longer offensive or harmful. Scented air sprays do not remove the odor causing particles from the air, they simply mask them by adding pleasant scents.

Homes

If you live in a home or apartment that has persistent and offensive odors from pets, food, tobacco smoke, mold, garbage or other sources, an ozone generator may be what is needed to allow you to breathe more easily. Ozone seeks out and destroys odors in the air. Ions created by coronal discharge cause dust particles in the air to clump into larger particles that fall to the ground to be vacuumed up.

Rooms

For cleaning the air in a single room, the Newaire Plugin electronic deodorizer is effective for cleaning odors in areas up to 500 sq/ft of air. Simply plug the device into an electrical wall outlet and let it start to remove the unpleasant odors from the air while knocking down the air-borne particulate. The air quality is significantly improved by a freshening infusion of enhanced ionization.

Vehicles

You may have a vehicle that smells bad, such as a used car, truck, minivan or commercial vehicle. You may have an old RV that smells musty after sitting unused for several months. The Newaire Auto Series II can safely eliminate the offensive odors from up to 250 sq/ft, giving you and your passengers a much more pleasant experience. Just plug it into a DC outlet, and it will go to work cleaning the air. It may even save your vacation in the case of a musty RV.

Have Air Pollution Headlines Got You Craving That Clean Air Smell?

Since the start of 2014, much has been written about the world’s air pollution problem. The firestorm started with the release of theEnvironmental Performance Index and studies like the one found in the December 2013 issue of the Journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. Not only did they set off heated discussions about which countries have the worst pollution, they made many people think about how great clean air smells.

Clean air smells so wonderful because it is free of contaminants like smoke, dust mite feces, mold spores, pet dander and other offensive items. Unfortunately, for all of us, it’s incredibly hard to prevent those items from entering into the earth’s atmosphere. That’s why many of us are only able to enjoy clean air indoors.

Of course it takes work to ensure that our indoor environments have that clean air smell. The job starts with making sure that we use furnishings and accessories devoid of volatile organic compounds. Routinely cleaning our homes with fume-free products and taking steps to keep moisture to a minimum can also help. However, the one sure way to clean the air is to use a trusted air purifying technique.

Over the years, humans have used a variety of products to purify and deodorize the air. Some of the methods, like ultraviolet germicidal irradiation and thermodynamic sterilization systems, tend to be expensive. They are also more geared towards commercial and industrial applications. Ozone generators, on the other hand, are priced right and versatile. As such, they are often used in many different situations to bring back that clean air smell.

Funeral Home Odors May Do More Than Just Frighten Away Customers

Do you work in the death care industry? If so, you already know how much customers despise funeral home odors. They are often strong enough to send grieving families out the door in search of another facility to care for their loved one. What you may not realize is just how dangerous those odors can be to you and the mourners.

Take formaldehyde as an example. It is one of the most harmful and offensive funeral home odors there is. Studies dating as far back as the 1980s have shown that itsfumes can cause funeral home staff to develop brain tumors and variety of different cancers. There have even been lawsuits filed on behalf of funeral home employees that have gotten cancer after being exposed to the chemical over time.

One of the more recent lawsuits took place in New Jersey during the fall of 2012. In that case, a mortician allegedly developed leukemia from working with the chemical. He later sued the funeral home for not taking the necessary precautions to remove the chemical odors from the facility. At this time, results of that lawsuit are not known.

Of course formaldehyde is not the only toxic substance known to contribute to funeral home odors. There is also the matter of putrescine and cadaverine. Although they are naturally occurring substances, both have been known to cause people to develop health problems as well. The list of health problems that may occur from inhaling those two particular funeral home odors includes mucous membrane burns, emphysema and a form of pneumoconiosis.

On a positive note, with the right supplies, funeral home odors may be eliminated. One product that may make your funeral home odor free is an ozone generator. Remove Solvent and Paint Fumes from Homes with the QT Hurricane

Spring’s arrival often signals the start of indoor renovation projects like repainting a bedroom or nursery. Although such interior painting projects may seem like no big deal, they do pose hidden dangers that must be addressed. Toxic paint fumes are one of them.

Today’s interior paints and solvents come in a wide variety of types. Some of the solvents and paints on the market today contain highly toxic chemicals like toluene, acetone and xylene. They can irritate a person’s central nervous system, skin, eyes, respiratory system, kidneys and liver. Other interior paints and solvents, like Benjamin Moore’s Natura line, are considered to be eco-friendly. However, even eco-friendly paints with no volatile organic compounds are not entirely fume free. The fumes emitted during spring painting projects can cause health problems of their own.

A good, real life example of the type of damage that paint fumes can cause appeared in a September 6, 2013 news article published by The New Zealand Herald. Apparently, after painting their home’s interior, one family became extremely ill and had to seek medical attention. They experienced some of the health problems that we mentioned above (i.e. respiratory distress) and had to leave their home. In addition, the family mentioned wanting to hire someone to decontaminate their home prior to their return.

QT Hurricane

The 120V/60W QT Hurricane is one product that may be used to naturally remove paint and solvent fumes from a home’s interior. It is 11.75 inches long, 7.5 inches wide, 8.75 inches tall and weighs 11 pounds. Each QT Hurricane generates ozone. Ozone has the capability to organically destroy toxic solvent and paint fumes, thereby leaving the air odor free. So families like the one previously mentioned in our real life example could use it to help make their homes livable again.

Garage Odors Caused by Crankcase Oil: A Look at How to Deal with Them

One of the many substances that can cause garage odors is crankcase oil. As you might have known, it’s used to lubricate a vehicle’s crankshaft and working components. Many such motor oils are mineral based, which means that they can be hazardous if not handled correctly.

Between new and used crankcase oil, the later tends to be the more toxic of the two. That’s because it’s not uncommon for it to pick up toxic substances from inside of the crankcase and other areas. Examples of such dangerous substances include lead, barium, nickel, molybdenum and boron.

Depending on exposure conditions, they have the potential to cause cardiovascular, hepatic, hematological and respiratory problems as well as contact dermatitis. The respiratory problems are obviously caused by inhaling the crankcase oil odors. Those same odors may also cause a person’s eyes to water and or otherwise become irritated.

With that said, if your garage is home to containers of used crankcase oil, it is best to remove them. In most instances, a waste oil collection agency may be able to help in that regard. If the used crankcase oil has spilt onto your concrete floor, you’ll clearly want to take other measures.

In the event of a spill, cover the crankcase oil stained area with a disposable, eco-friendly sorbent. They are generally sold through janitorial supply retailers and auto parts stores. Afterward, you’ll be able to remove the spent sorbent and dispose of it accordingly.

When you are finished removing the spent crankcase oil from your garage, the toxic odors should start to subside. Those odors that remain in the garage or your vehicle after the clean up may be removed naturally with a Newaire, Rainbowair or Queenaire ozone generator. To learn more about them and the process of effective garage odor removal, please contact us toll-free at (866) 676-9663.

Electronic Deodorizers Can Help Mitigate Smoke and Fire Damage

According to the National Fire Protection Association’s research, approximately two homes in America catch fire every three minutes. The structures that manage to survive the initial blaze tend to have at least some smoke and fire damage. Our ozone experts are well familiar with resolving smoke damage issues.

For instance, did you know that there are different types of smoke that are generated during a fire? It’s true. The type of smoke is determined by the amount of oxygen and humidity levels involved in the blaze. The fuel sources can also clearly play a role. In general, most fires produce either free-floating or driven smoke. They frequently leave behind a wet or dry residue.

Ceilingwipe

In our experience, one of the ideal ways to contend with all types of smoke and fire damage is to invest in an ozone generator. When used properly, it can rid the air of any remaining acrid, fire related odors and ash based, airborne particulates. It is crucial to remove such odors and materials as soon as possible for three simple reasons.

First, they can severely irritate living creature’s respiratory systems. That irritation can cause a person or animal to experience burning sensations in their throat, nose and lungs. It can also cause the person or animal to have difficulty catching their breath. Second, they can cause the eyes to water and become irritated too. Third, prolonged exposure to those types of situations can contribute towards the development of lung cancer, asthma and other serious health problems.

For more information on how ozone, negative ions and ozone generators can help you solve fire damage related problems, please contact us at (866) 676-9663. We can help you select an appropriate machine that will clear away smoke and its related residues from the inside of your building in no time at all.

How Ozone Can Kill Bacteria and Remove Odors in the Process

The three oxygen atoms that make up ozone occur naturally. In fact,
approximately 20 percent of the planet’s breathable air is made up of ozone.
Yet there is more to this highly unstable molecule than meets the eye. Did you
know that ozone will kill bacteria
and do away with offensive odors in the process?

  • Ozone reacts with the
         cell walls of bacteria.
    Ohio State University
experts recognize ozone as “a potent antimicrobial agent” that not only
kills bacteria but also eradicates fungi, viruses and even parasites.
Researchers discovered that the oxidative burst, which occurs when the
ozone molecule reacts with bacterial cell walls, paves the way to further
destruction of the undesired organism’s cellular components. This refers
to bacterial genetic material, a wide variety of enzymes contained within
the cell wall and the lipids that make up parts of the cell wall itself.
Microorganisms cannot withstand this onslaught and die.
  • A destruction of
         bacteria results in odor removal.
    Offensive odors are usually the
result of bacterial activity. For example, in the case of a smelly shoe
closet, the bacteria that ingest sweat subsequently excrete acids that are
exceedingly pungent. Thus, by destroying the odor-causing bacteria in the
first place, any offensive odor you may notice in a home or business also
         gets removed.
  • Ozone may be created
         artificially.
It is possible to artificially create ozone in the
business or home environment. The Ozone Experts are a recognized leader in the
         ozone technology field.

Unlike with antibiotics and chemical-based bacterial cleaners, it is not
possible for the targeted microbes to develop a form of immunity to the
oxidative burst. This knowledge is now being harness by physicians who have
long been concerned over the increasing levels of hospital-acquired infections.
Gizmag
reports on Canada’s Queen's University that is now experimenting with the use
of ozone to kill difficult-to-eradiate and highly infectious bacteria.

At Ozone Experts, we understand that you do not want to use harsh and
potentially dangerous chemicals to kill bacteria. Contact us today
to discuss the types of ozone-generating products that would be perfect for
your home or business. Losing offensive odors in the process is a welcome
fringe benefit.

Indoor Funeral Home/Crematory Odors May Be Reduced with Ozone

According to data provided by the National Funeral Directors’ Association, an increasing number of Americans are turning towards the services of a crematorium. With that said, as time goes on, Americans are apt to encounter more news stories about residents’ concerns over funeral home/crematory odors and emissions.

For those unfamiliar with the industry, the intensity of a funeral home/crematorium’s odors and emissions depends on several factors. Those factors include how often the process is completed and the type of retort used. The types of chemicals and particles released into the air during the process may include, but are not confined to the following:

  • Chlorinated dibenzodioxins
  • Carbon monoxide
  • Hydrochloric acid
  • Nitrogen oxide
  • Formaldehyde
  • Sulfur dioxide
  • Cadmium
  • Mercury

Once released into the air, the odors may then travel to other parts of the facility or beyond. The good news is that using indoor ozone generators may help minimize or eliminate those odors in unoccupied areas. The ozone generator’s ability to successfully combat funeral home/crematory odors understandably will depend on several factors. One of them is the size of the room that needs to be deodorized.

Take our Rainbowair Activator 2000 Series for example. It is a portable ozone generator that is capable of deodorizing a 20,000 sq/ft area. Oftentimes, it is used by business owners seeking to combat odors generated during restoration projects. Some nursing homes, on the other hand, may opt to use the QT Thunder to deodorize a resident’s room after he or she has passed away. It is capable of treating a 300 sq/ft unoccupied area in 20 minutes or less. They are obviously not the only types of ozone generators available. The Newaire Plug-Ins are also frequently used to deodorize businesses. The units may prove to be beneficial when installed in autopsy rooms or cold storage areas.

Reduce Smoke Related Wildfire Damage with an Ozone Generator

Each year, wildfires cause an exorbitant amount of property damage. The U.S. Fire Administration’s raw data helps tell the tale of that destruction. In 2012 alone, nationwide, there were more than 67,750 wildfires that collectively consumed 9,326,200+ acres. Those that were forced to clean up the wildfire damage had to undoubtedly deal with unpleasant odors as part of the process.

Of course that is not even taking into account the smoke odors that spread to the areas surrounding the hot zones. Not only are those odors unpleasant, they can cause serious health problems too. This is especially the case for certain segments of the population, including asthmatics and children.

According to a 2010 article published in the International Journal of Wildland Fire, it’s the fossil fuel that is typically involved in the smoke’s production that makes the situation so problematic health wise. It generates miniscule particulates in addition to the smoke odor itself. Together, they may lead to acute respiratory and cardiac problems. That's why the American Lung Association suggests keeping one’s indoor air quality as high as possible.

So what can one do to minimize fire damage related smoke odors?  One way to do that in unoccupied areas is to use an ozone generator. Depending on the ozone generator’s make and model, it should free the unoccupied area of smoke odors. Makes and models of ozone generators that may prove to be beneficial in fire damage situations include the QT Cyclone and the Rainbowair Activator 2000 Series II. Both are portable and capable of producing high amounts of ozone per hour.

The 10 Biggest Culprits of House Odors and How to Deodorize Your Home

Even the cleanest of homes can suffer from halitosis. There are many reasons
for house Odors. Here are the 10 most
common:

  1. Garbage
the most common, and most obvious culprit of a smelly home is garbage.
Simply taking out the trash is not always enough to eliminate the odor of
garbage. Frequent cleaning of your inside garbage containers with a
disinfectant cleaner will help keep your home from smelling like a garbage
         dump.
  2. Sinks and garbage
         disposals
    – often these two fixtures are overlooked during normal
housecleaning but can be a great source of stink in your home. Regular
cleaning of your drains and garbage disposal will help keep away the
         stench.
  3. Stoves
while you may keep the surface of your stove spotless what's under your
burners may be permeating through your home. Spilled or overflowing food
and juices under the burners can give off a horrible odor in your home.
Regular cleaning will solve this problem.
  4. Pets
whether you own a dog, a cat, or a chicken, pets give off odors that
aren't always controllable. Besides frequent baths and frequent cleaning,
a pet smell is hard to get rid of by cleaning alone.
  5. Lack of ventilation
         – everything needs to breath including your house. Stale odors from
cooking, pets, and other household living can fill your house with bad
odor in no time. Opening windows periodically to let in some fresh air
will do both you and your house some good.
  6. Hood Vents
although it occurs to few people, the vent above the stove is a wonderful
place for odors to develop. If you've ever saved grease in a jar you know
how smelly it can become. Imagine the hood vent in your kitchen and how
much grease it has accrued over time.
  7. Mold – if
you have mold growing in any part of your house it is a serious problem
and should be addressed immediately. Rooms that are prone to dampness such
as the bathroom can cause mold to grow creating a horrible musty smell as
         well as causing heath problems.
  8. Dirty clothes
         – a pile of dirty clothes never smells pretty and can stink up a house in
no time. Keeping dirty clothes in a clothes hamper with a lid will help
         eliminate the odors.
  9. Carpets
pet dander, dirt from shoes, spilled food, etc. all lay within your rugs
and carpets. Simple vacuuming only removes the top dirt. It does not
remove the smell or the dirt underneath the fibers. Frequent steam
cleaning or shampooing will help ease the bad smell in your home.
  10. Shoes – yes,
shoes that have been worn by people usually smell. If you line your shoes
up near the front door this is what your guests will smell when they walk
in – dirty feet. Sprinkling baby powder in each shoe helps. Placing them
out of sight and out of nose range is better.

So how do you get rid of all these smells? Well, some people never rid their
home of odors, they just cover them up. The stores are filled with options to
cover up the bad smells of your home. This is a great idea if you want to spend
hundreds of dollars each year in throw-away deodorizers and sprays.

The most practical and economical way to eliminate house odors completely, without just
covering up the smell, is a Ozone
Generator
